2025
In 2025, MONAF expanded the depth of its programs and evolved into a more curatorial-driven art fair.
Through collaboration with regional universities such as Sangmyung University, Hanseo University, and Baekseok University,
the fair broadened academic and practical exchanges while strengthening its connection with the regional arts ecosystem.
The special exhibition *“The Fragrance of Korean Contemporary Painting”* presented works by Na Hye-seok, Kim Whanki, and Nam Kwan,
offering a perspective on the historical flow and formal legacy of modern and contemporary Korean painting.
In addition, *“Perspectives on Korean–Japanese Contemporary Art – From the Baekseok University Collection”* explored points of dialogue within contemporary art.
Works by Lee Kun-yong were also presented in collaboration with private collectors, demonstrating an expanded exhibition model created through both public and private collections.
With the participation of domestic galleries and approximately 200 artists,
MONAF further developed into a platform where exchange and art distribution take place alongside viewing, supported by a stay-oriented format that integrates exhibitions, performances, and curated F&B experiences.
2024
With the aim of expanding the regional art market and establishing new distribution structures,
MONAF was launched in 2024 in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.
As an international art fair initiated by the private sector, it was conceived to move beyond regional geographic limitations
and to build a platform where artists, galleries, and collectors can connect in meaningful and practical ways.
The inaugural edition was held in cooperation with partners including Chungcheongnam-do Province and Asan City,
as well as the Chungnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, Joongbu Foundation, Wonjin Industry, Hana Bank, NH NongHyup Bank, and TJB,
providing a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate the sustainability of a region-based art fair.
Galleries, artists, and collectors from Korea and abroad gathered in one place,
creating a structure that goes beyond a simple exhibition and enables distribution and networking.
Through the integration of exhibitions, programs, and spatial experiences, MONAF has presented new possibilities for a regional hub art fair.
